The Wallace Chamber of Commerce has canceled the Friday night Christmas
Lights Parade and Saturday morning Paw Parade due to recent stage II COVID restrictions.
In a press release, early Wednesday morning Chamber Coordinator, Dave Copelan said they made the decision based on recommendations of local government agencies.
“Our board has been in close consultation with Panhandle Health. They were advised not to conduct the parades in the given pandemic conditions,” said Copelan. The board also consulted with Wallace City officials, who too recommended the parades be canceled.
There will be, however, other events this weekend including the hayrides, book readings, pictures with Santa, free holiday movie showings, and a dozen downtown merchants offering family-oriented activities.
